- Annotate - arrows, lines, boxes, ovals, highlights, text, numbered steps and a freehand pen. Drag anything after the fact; reshape arrows by their tips.
- Redact - pixelate the parts that shouldn't leave the building.
- Reframe - swap the matte, slide the padding, snap to 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 or social, and cap the exported size.
- Select text - offline OCR turns the screenshot into something you can drag a cursor across. Anything you pixelated stays unreadable, and uncopyable.

Which versions of Windows?
Matteshot runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11. It is a native 64-bit app with no separate runtime to install.
What happens when the trial ends?
New captures pause until you enter a license key. Anything you already saved stays yours: Matteshot exports ordinary local PNG, GIF and MP4 files and does not upload or lock them.
What does the one-time purchase include?
A perpetual license for the version you buy, activation on up to three Windows PCs, and every update released during your first year. There is no subscription.
What happens after the first year?
Your licensed version keeps working. Updates released after the included year may be offered as an optional paid upgrade; you never have to upgrade to keep using what you bought.
What if I replace a PC?
Deactivate Matteshot from the old PC, then use the same key on the new one. A license can have up to three active PCs at a time.
Is the installer signed?
Yes. Release installers are code-signed, and Matteshot verifies both the signature and the published checksum before an automatic update can run.
